Putting an End to Type 1 Diabetes
This one hits close to home. Meet my nephew Jacob and donate if you would like to support his cause.
Jacob was diagnosed with T1D almost 7 years ago (wow!) This will be our 7th JDRF Walk and 1st year participating in Baltimore. JDRF has made life with T1D much easier in the nearly 7 years Jacob has dealt with the disease. Although it is easier, there is still a lot of progress to be made.
Our team is walking to help JDRF create a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D) for the millions of children and adults living with this disease.
With T1D, a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. If you have T1D, you must constantly monitor your blood-sugar level, inject or infuse insulin through a pump, and carefully balance these insulin doses with your eating and activity.
Living with T1D means there are no days off and there is no cure. But there is hope!
By donating or joining our JDRF One Walk® team today, you’ll help fund research to improve the lives of everyone challenged by T1D. With your support, JDRF will turn Type One into Type None.
Our family goal this year is to raise $1,000. You can donate to our team and/or join as a walker or virtual walker.
Thanks for your support!
